3M Ranch History

Horses that can do an honest days work...

Picture
Daniel and Helen grew up in the farming and ranching business.  Daniel, who grew up during the screw worm era, wanted a horse that could withstand all day riding and doctoring cattle.

In 1982 the horse program was established with an emphasis on horses with bone, conformation and athletic ability.  Early in the breeding program, all of the mares were used and ridden prior to entering the broodmare band.  This provided insight as to what the offspring should ride like.

Through out the years 3M Ranch has owned several gray stallions:  Les Glo stallion (King P234), Tee Jay Jackie Tomboy (Jackie Bee and Gold Fingers), Ima Uptown Gentleman (Easter King foundation bred stallion). Our current stallion is Circle Bar Playgun an own son of Playgun.

3M Ranch's goal is to produce a horse that will rope, team pen, do ranch work, and thrive in any discipline that you choose--while still giving you an honest days work.  3M Ranch Horses are ideal as working ranch horses or as Rodeo or Playday mounts.

Today the ranch runs Brahman cows and Hereford bulls to raise F1 females along with commercial cows.
